By creating an account or using AquaTracker ("Aquarium Water Tracker", the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Description of the service

AquaTracker is a web application for recording, visualizing, and analyzing aquarium water parameters. Features include measurement tracking, charts and statistics, threshold-based alerts, maintenance logs, data import/export, external device ingestion, and optional AI-generated insights for premium users.

2. Accounts and security

You must provide a valid email address to register. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
• attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
• interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
• abuse the API or ingestion endpoints (e.g. excessive automated requests);
• misrepresent AI-generated content as professional advice.

4. Your data

You retain all rights to the aquarium data you enter. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that data solely to provide the Service. You can export your measurements as CSV at any time. Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.

5. AI insights — important disclaimer

AI-generated insights are advisory only. They are produced by a large language model from your recorded data and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your specific aquarium. They are not veterinary, biological, or professional advice, and they do not replace proper water testing with reagent test kits or consultation with a qualified professional.

Deterministic threshold alerts remain the authoritative alerting mechanism in the Service. You are solely responsible for decisions affecting your aquarium and its livestock.

6. Premium features and payments

Some features (such as AI insights) require a premium subscription. Pricing, billing cycles, and cancellation terms will be presented at the point of purchase once paid plans become available. We may change premium features or quotas with reasonable notice.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data or analysis (including AI insights and alerts) will be accurate or timely.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AquaTracker and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including loss of livestock, damage to aquariums or equipment, or loss of data — arising from the use or inability to use the Service. Our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or zero if you used the Service for free).

10. Changes to the service or terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the application. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
